The 2002 design, called “Snowburst” is made of 30 pieces of wood: 12 pieces of walnut and 18 pieces of maple. Both the individual pieces of wood and the grain of the wood radiate in a starburst effect I call "Snowburst." The pale honey brown wood is hard maple from Indiana and the rich dark brown sections are black walnut from Kentucky. It is approximately 4“ (100 mm) in diameter. The natural woods are finished with clear acrylic over shellac.
